On January 12th 2010 at 04:53pm, a devastating earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 hit Port-au-Prince, Haiti and destroyed most of the surrounding area.

3 million people were immediately affected and have been dependant on extensive help and charitable services in order to survive.

33 after-quakes have hit Haiti since, the strongest had a magnitude of 6.0.

Approximated deaths: 200 000 people
